Hello, I’m Susan Brown. I have lived in Butte County all of my life. I attended Oroville and Durham schools, Butte Community College, and finally California State University, Chico, where I earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Home Economics and a Degree Minor in Business Administration in 1983. Almost ten years later, I returned to CSUC to complete the Professional Program in Education and received my Secondary Teaching Credential in Home Economics and Office-Related Technologies in 1995. Although my five-year teaching career was brief, I loved most everything about it, especially working with teens in an active classroom.
While still in college, I married my husband Joel, a Chico native, in 1981. While we made Chico home for ourselves and our two children it seems as though there was always a home improvement “project” in the works. As our own children attended high school I undertook the ultimate project and built an estate home in Chico just “to have something to do.”
As owner/builder, I ran the entire project working to coordinate many wonderful tradespersons along the way, and even did some of the landscape and finish work myself! That was when I fell in love with real estate. As the homebuilding project came to an end, I immersed myself in real estate courses and became a licensed salesperson in 2005, the same year my husband and I moved back to my hometown of Oroville. We love Oroville’s small-town atmosphere, the beautiful foothills landscape, the incredible diversity of recreation centered around Lake Oroville and the Feather River, and its proximity to mountain getaways and city shopping.
In November, 2008, I achieved another personal goal when I obtained my real estate brokers license. As a Realtor® and Broker Associate for Table Mountain Realty I aim for a high standard of care with each and every one of my clients, whether it’s guiding them through the process of buying or selling a home, or just being a resource for information regarding our specific real estate market here in Butte County.
